FAQ overview:
What is a telephone box?

A telephone booth is an acoustically insulated space designed for confidential telephone calls, video calls or focused work within offices, co-working spaces or other work environments. 99cubes offers a range of models from various manufacturers.
You can find a complete overview of all the models on offer at https://99cubes.de/telefonboxen-meetingboxen/.
What is the difference between a telephone booth, a work booth and a meeting booth?

Telephone booths and work booths are generally designed for one person; however, work booths offer slightly more space for working whilst seated, whereas telephone booths are usually used whilst standing. Meeting booths can accommodate two or more people and are suitable for meetings, video conferences or teamwork.

What is an acoustic cube?

„At 99cubes, we use the term “Acoustic Cube’ as an umbrella term for all telephone booths, work pods and meeting pods that reduce noise and provide quiet spaces in open-plan working environments.
How does a telephone box work from a technical point of view?

A modern telephone booth is fitted with a motion or presence sensor. This is triggered when someone enters the booth, switching on the lighting and activating the built-in ventilation. A telephone booth therefore requires a power connection (a standard 230V socket).

Is it better to rent or buy a telephone box?

Renting can always be a sensible alternative to buying if at least one of the following criteria is met:
– there is a need for a high degree of flexibility
– the need is expected to exist only for a limited period
– the aim is to preserve one’s own liquidity
– A product is to be hired initially for a trial period (hire with an option to buy).
Buying may be more cost-effective if you are planning to use the item in the long term and none of the above points are a major consideration.
When is leasing a good option?

Leasing is particularly suitable for businesses that wish to preserve their cash flow or spread costs predictably over a longer period of several years. A prerequisite for entering into a lease agreement is a sufficient credit rating. 99cubes provides support in selecting suitable financing models.

Is leasing available for new businesses and start-ups?

Before a lease agreement is finalised, our financing partners check the lessee’s creditworthiness. This usually requires at least one or two years’ set of financial statements – for newly established limited liability companies (GmbHs), this is often a disqualifying factor. Sole traders who are personally liable, on the other hand, have a better chance of securing a lease agreement.
Is the Flex rental scheme available to new businesses and start-ups?
99cubes’ Flex-Rent scheme is also available to new businesses and start-ups. The Flex Lease is a genuine lease arrangement with no financial intermediaries involved. This provides greater freedom of choice when drawing up the contract, which 99cubes also utilises to the benefit of new businesses and start-ups.
What size should I choose for telephone or meeting boxes?

The right size depends primarily on the intended use, the available floor space and the number of users. A phone booth is usually sufficient for short phone calls or video calls. Whilst work booths require a little more space, they offer greater comfort and are also suitable for slightly longer periods of focused work. For meetings with several people, 99cubes offers meeting pods of various capacities (2 people, 4 people, 6 people, etc.)

What sort of sound insulation do I need?

Based on ISO 23351-1, the three sound insulation classes – A, B and C – are relevant in practice. The level of sound insulation required depends on the environment and the desired degree of confidentiality. The quieter the environment, the more sound insulation is needed to ensure confidentiality.
