Depending on the interior fittings, an acoustic box can be used either sitting or standing - if a height-adjustable table is installed, it can even be used "both". With the help of this selection and filter criterion, we try to make the different interior equipment and interior variants easier to grasp. We reveal whether your meeting box is better designed for sitting or standing further down in the text.
A small note on our categorisation: Multiple assignments are possible for this selection criterion. This applies in particular if different interior design variants are available for a telephone or meeting box, but we have bundled them into one product for presentation reasons.

Sitting or standing - different table heights

The table height determines whether a telephone or meeting box is used for standing or sitting work. However, it is not clear which acoustic box supports which working mode. A good example of this is the Meeting Box Cube L | SEDUS. There are six different interior configurations with different table heights (including a version with an electrically height-adjustable table), making the Cube L suitable for both seated working and standing meetings.
Sitting or standing - chairs, sofas or stools
However, not all seating is the same - which is why we have differentiated between low seating (on a bench, sofa or meeting chair) and raised seating on a stool. Once again, this shows the variety of interior fittings offered by many acoustic cube manufacturers - the picture shows the possible fittings of the MEET-UP Plus meeting box | Studiobricks.

Sitting or standing - which is preferable?
There is no right or wrong answer to this question - both variants have their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to meeting and telephone boxes:
Advantages and disadvantages | standing up | Sitting (low) | Sitting (high) |
---|---|---|---|
Advantages | Good space utilisation / little space required per person | convenient | Good space utilisation / little space required per person |
Enables dynamic standing (positive for circulation, intervertebral discs, etc.) | Concentrated work on the laptop is possible (depending on the nature of the seating - the more ergonomic the better) | More comfortable than just standing; allows you to alternate between dynamic standing and dynamic sitting (with appropriate stool) | |
Concentrated work on the laptop is slightly better than when standing up | |||
Seating is usually interchangeable (greater flexibility) | |||
Disadvantages | Not suitable for longer periods of concentrated work | Higher space requirement per person / poorer space utilisation | Not suitable for longer periods of concentrated work |
Narrow / little available space per person | Ergonomic quality depends on the type of seat | Narrow / little available space per person |
Conclusion: It therefore depends above all on how much space is available and which activities are primarily to be carried out in an acoustic box (see also our article on the selection criterion "Utilisation").
Is the meeting box to be used for short stand-ups in the (noisy) production area? Then you can purchase a space- and budget-saving meeting box that is designed for standing meetings with a clear conscience. Are you looking for a flexible, acoustically shielded area in which small meetings can take place as well as concentrated work on a laptop? Then a meeting box with comfortable chairs or sofas is the obvious choice.
