The generic term "telephone and meeting boxes" already suggests it - you can make phone calls and hold meetings in acoustic cubes. But that alone would be too narrow. The soundproof, well-ventilated boxes are suitable for numerous other activities - we try to categorise them in this article.
A small note on our categorisation: Multiple assignments are possible for this selection criterion. This applies in particular if different interior design variants are available for a telephone or meeting box, but we have bundled them into one product for presentation reasons.

Acoustic boxes for telephone and video calls
Soundproofed telephony and acoustically shielded video calls are the sales argument par excellence for acoustic boxes and at the same time the minimum requirement that every soundproof booth, cube and box should fulfil. This is all the more true as no particularly high technical requirements (apart from sound insulation, ventilation and lighting) are placed on acoustic cubes for either activity: Making phone calls while standing is no problem, and a small shelf for a laptop or smartphone is generally sufficient for video calls. In our product overview, all products are therefore classified as basically suitable for telephoning and video calls.
If you have higher requirements when it comes to video callsshould approach the relevant acoustic speakers using the following selection criteria:

- Special feature "Video call equipment"In this section, we have compiled acoustic boxes that have an interior design explicitly optimised for video calls, some even with an integrated touch screen. Look out for manufacturer-specific designations such as "Web Con", "Video Lounge", Video Conference" or "Video Call".
- Selection criterion "Monitor holder"combined with a monitor with integrated webcam, video calls can be made in the best quality and from the ideal camera perspective
- Selection criterion "Sitting or standing"Longer and regular video calls may require an acoustic box with ergonomic seating.
Acoustic speakers for meetings and discussions
When acoustic cubes for more than one person are requested, this usually refers to the "meeting box" type. Being able to hold meetings in a pleasant, soundproof setting without having to resort to "real" meeting rooms in the building (which are usually far too limited in number anyway) is the use case par excellence for multi-person boxes.
The requirement to facilitate efficient meetings and discussions goes hand in hand with a certain minimum level of interior equipment.
- The classic meeting box: Meeting box with integrated table and two sofas or benches. Advantage: Optimum utilisation of space thanks to customised interior fittings.
- The do-it-yourself meeting box: Empty meeting box without interior fittings. Advantage: allows flexible, changing interior fittings - but these must be selected and purchased separately (or already exist). P.S.: We have tips and recommendations for this - see Accessories.
- The meeting box with table: Meeting box with integrated table, but without sofas or seating. Advantage: customised table, flexible seating with existing or new chairs.

The fully equipped classic meeting box is the first choice for many of our customers; the other variants require a little more thought and planning. We will be happy to advise you on this!

Acoustic speakers for concentrated work
In our view, acoustic boxes for concentrated work require ergonomic seating (see also: Sitting or standing). Normal telephone boxes for standing do not fall into this category for reasons of space.
In other words, the following types of acoustic cubes are suitable for concentrated work:
- Type Work boxFloor space approx. 1.5m², specially designed for concentrated work
- Type Meeting boxFloor area approx. 3m², suitable for occasional concentrated work
Although classic meeting boxes with a table and sofa are not particularly ergonomic, they can be used not only in a team but also alone. They are therefore a sensible alternative option for concentrating on work for a while.
Work boxes are significantly more ergonomic if they are equipped with an office swivel chair (usually never included in the scope of delivery, but must be ordered separately). Another ergonomic highlight: the electrically height-adjustable desk in the acoustic cube (e.g. available for these models).
Note: Acoustic speakers for concentrated work in pairs or threes can be found in the section "Cooperation".

Acoustic speakers for working together
We use the term "collaboration" to summarise activities in which several people work together in a concentrated manner on something (e.g. on a laptop on a document, CAD planning, a checklist or similar). While a meeting focusses on the spoken word and exchanges and the participants sit opposite each other, collaboration tends to take place side by side - i.e. with a view of a screen or whiteboard. Accordingly, the interior design and structure of acoustic boxes that are designed for collaboration mode differ from other meeting boxes. Examples of this are the Duo-Work versions of the Cube Mthe double variants at Space M and Space L and the correspondingly equipped variants of the model FOCUS resp. MEET-UP-Plus.

In our opinion, the cubes from the manufacturer Sedus are particularly suitable for agile collaboration - these score points with a double whiteboard option: both the outer walls (sizes S, M and L) and the inner walls (sizes M and L) can be ordered in a whiteboard version (however, the inside is only available for versions without a sofa). This turns the acoustic cube into a concentrated brainstorming cell!
